When people think of beach holidays they automatically head for Spain, Greece and now even Croatia. But they never think about heading to Holland now... Do they?

The Hague in Holland is glorious beach front city with white golden sand stretching for miles. With sand dunes, a pier, plenty of gorgeous bars and restaurants The Hague's beach is a pleasant surprise and one of Europe's best kept secrets. The sea is pretty warm and very clean too, which is odd considering it's the North Sea.

Flying to Holland is super cheap and quick, you can fly straight in and out of Schiphol for under £100 and simply jump on the next train to "Den Haag" straight from the airport. The Hague is a charming city and far less crowded than its popular cousin Amsterdam. The only issue is, is that Holland has similar weather to the UK so waiting for a heat wave is key. But flights are so cheap no matter when you book them making The Hague a fail safe way to enjoy a bit of sun without the hefty Mediterranean price tag.
